P to P was atrocious. I was bored after five minutes, found Clooney insufferably shallow (and it's not that I'm against his politics or anything like that; he's just not nearly as charismatic or interesting without a good script in front of him) and have always thought Bon Jovi a talentless wonder who makes his living off fat suburban moms who want to relive their youthful "rebellion" of hanging out at the mall and sneaking cigarettes behind the garage. Buffett was less annoying, but he didn't say anything we didn't already know--he doesn't use computers, he relies on old fashioned methods, he's been working out of the same place for 50 years, etc. Most of all, though, Rose looks stiff in his new job, as he does on the morning show. Don't think it's a good fit, and I don't think he'll last any longer at The Big Eye than Christiane Amanpour did.

I also found at seventeen that I couldn’t read A Farewell to Arms, and to this day I’m not sure why I disliked it so much. You may have influenced me to pick it up again!I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m currently writing a thesis on short stories, but I find them a wonderful way of ‘getting into’ a new-to-you author. Sometimes I find the more experimental shorter works more interesting and enjoyable to read that the longer novels that can be, by their very nature, more conservative in form. So maybe short stories would also be the way into Hemingway for me, too.
